The World Health Organization has reported this Thursday the detection of 3,777,104 new cases of Covid-19 globally, which means a record for one day since the start of the pandemic, according to figures from the international entity.

This digit confirms the magnitude of the wave of cases that the world is experiencing caused by the expansion of the Omicron variant, registering several records in countries of all latitudes.
With the more than 3.7 million positive patients confirmed this Thursday, the world reached the total number of 336,790,193 cases since the start of the pandemic.
The United States, India, Brazil, the United Kingdom and France lead the list of countries by number of confirmed cases in total, while Europe leads by region with more than 125 million cases and is followed by the Americas with more than 123 million. .
Regarding the situation of the number of confirmed patients by nations in the Latin American and Caribbean area, Brazil is followed by Argentina, Colombia and Mexico, in that order.
On the other hand, the WHO highlights that with the 8,741 deaths to date, more than 5.5 million people have died from causes associated with the disease since the start of the pandemic, a negative indicator in which the United States is at the forefront with more than 850,000 deaths; and Brazil follows with more than 620,000.
