The Paraguayan Prosecutor's Office reported this Saturday that the Directorate of Economic Crimes will analyze videos delivered to the judicial authority where there is evidence of an alleged criminal act of smuggling in the Paraguayan Navy, where military and police officers are involved in the crime.

"In relation to data, statements and audiovisual material revealed yesterday about an alleged smuggling that occurred in the area of the National Navy, in the area of Itá Enramada, Lambaré, the pertinent investigations are being carried out," the Paraguayan Prosecutor's Office pointed out.
According to the entity, the act of smuggling was not reported to the Public Ministry of the South American country, for which it will be examined based on a technical operation to determine if the act can be considered punishable.
"The result of the analysis must be sent to the highest instance as soon as possible, in order to determine the opening of a criminal investigation of the events that occurred," the entity said.
Likewise, the tax authority specified that after the results of the investigations it is necessary to open a file to investigate the criminal act, the criminal responsibilities attributed to each of those involved will be determined.
It should be noted that the judiciary in Paraguay is facing a critical context, aggravated by lawsuits for links to illegal drug trafficking by the former Minister of the Interior, Arnaldo Giuzzio, against the former president of the nation, Horacio Cartes, and other members of the cabinet. .
