A resounding goal a few minutes from the end, assisted by Lionel Messi, gave Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) victory against Rennes in Ligue 1 in France.
The “ninja turtle” was located open to the left in a quick counterattack initiated by striker Mauro Icardi, who gave the ball to Argentine star Messi who with a level of detail located the ball to the best positioned player: Kylian Mbappé, who from right he placed it on the pole farthest from the goalkeeper.
The match was characterized by the parsimony of Mauricio Pochettino’s approach. Despite having their best players on the pitch (with the exception of Neymar and Sergio Ramos who are still injured), the Parisians were unable to create clear scoring chances.
At the end of the game, with the entry of Ángel Di María, it was that PSG put their foot on the accelerator. With this victory, the current leaders of French football maintain their wide difference of more than 10 points.
But the Kylian – Lionel connection was not only seen at the end of the game, after an hour of play the Frenchman managed to score from a pass from the last Ballon d’Or winner, but unfortunately the goal was annulled for offside.
Next Tuesday, February 15, PSG will receive Real Madrid for the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League, first leg; Coach Pochettino will hope to have the good offices and connection between his two greatest figures.
