The “Cyber Rodeo at Giga Texas”, an exclusive party for thousands of guests at the new Tesla “Gigafactory” of more than 1,000 million dollars in Austin, was on Thursday the biggest open secret and the most select event in the city .
Up to 15,000 people were expected to attend the strictly private party organized by tycoon Elon Musk to celebrate the opening of the new Tesla factory in Travis County, which will also be the new headquarters of the company after its transfer from California.
Under a permit issued by the county, the event would include interactive tours, food, drinks and live entertainment. But the general public and the press were not allowed to enter.
Musk has said the plant, which will employ up to 10,000 workers, will build the Cybertruck, Semi, Model 3 and Model Y sport utility vehicles.
Last month, the billionaire also opened another "Gigafactory" on the outskirts of Berlin to produce the Model Y van.
