Rahm signs the par (72) on the second day of the Masters

(adds Olazábal’s result)

Sports Writing, Apr 8 (EFE).- The Spanish Jon Rahm, world number 2, signed this Friday the pair (72) in the second round of the Masters, the first ‘major’ of the season and which is played at the Augusta National.

The Biscayan, who opened the tournament on Thursday with 74 (+2), has 146 total shots (2 over par), as does Sergio García from Castellón, who scored 74 this Friday.

Rahm started strongly, with two birdies in a row at 1 and 2. Then he made his first mistake of the day, in the form of a bogey at 12, but canceled it with a new birdie at 14. With -1 on his card, he missed on the 18th with a new bogey that prevented him from winning the course.

Sergio García delivered this Friday a card of 74 (+2), which, together with Thursday’s (72, even), means that he also accumulates 146 in total (2 up).

The man from Castellón signed up to five birdies, neutralized with bogeys on holes 5, 6, 9 and 14 and a triple bogey on 11, in which he went into the water on an approach on his third impact.

José María Olazábal will not play the weekend because of an 84 (+12) this Friday with nine bogeys and a quadruple bogey for a single birdie, at 13. In total, the double winner of the Masters says goodbye with 161 totals (+ 17).
