Pumas lived up to its loyal fans, who not only filled the University Olympic Stadium, but also supported their team throughout the match during the Concachampions first leg final against Seattle Sounders.

Nevertheless, the UNAM Pumas tied 2-2 against Seattle, on a rainy night full of emotions.

The Mexican team started the game with great force and from the first minutes they had a presence in the rival area.

But it was not until minute 37 that the 1-0 came, a goal in which there was no lack of nervousness.

The university students’ first goal came thanks to a penalty, Arriaga fouled Dinenno and the referee awarded the maximum penalty.

The Pumas had the opportunity to take the lead from eleven paces, but goalkeeper Stefan Frei ended up stopping Juan Ignacio Dinenno’s charge, who shot to the center.

The referee ended up repeating the penalty because the goalkeeper came forward. In the second charge Dinenno did not fail and sent the ball to the right.

The second half began with a great goal: Dinenno headed straight into the frame to make it 2-0.

The emotions continued, with a great night from Alfredo Talavera, who on more than one occasion saved the goal for the Pumas.

Despite his efforts, he couldn’t stop the Seattle Sounders from closing in on the scoreboard. At minute 70, a penalty was given in favor of the MLS team, after a handball by Saucedo.

At 77′, NicolĂĄs Lodeiro scored the 2-1 thanks to the maximum penalty.

The Pumas were unable to secure their victory, and at minute 96 another penalty was awarded in favor of Seattle, after a foul by Chispa Velarde that was reviewed by the VAR.

Lodeiro was again in charge of collecting the maximum penalty and although Talavera guessed the shot, he was unable to save it. So the match ended 2-2.

The Pumas returned to a Concachampions final after 17 years. On the other hand, Seattle will try to become the third MLS champion in this competition.
