Profeco receives 72 claims on the first day of El Buen Fin 2022; Walmart has the most complaints

In the first of four days of the El Buen Fin offers and promotions program, in its twelfth edition corresponding to this year 2022, the Federal Consumer Attorney’s Office (Profeco) received 72 claims, of which 23 were already reconciled through the Conciliaexprés tool, for immediate dispute resolution and the rest are in process.

The amount recovered in favor of consumers amounted to $114,241 pesos, while the main reasons for the claims were purchase cancellation (36), breach of offers or promotions (14) and wrong product delivery (5).

It should be noted that although Grupo Walmart maintains an offer campaign independent of the Good End, Profeco likewise maintains attention to consumers who are shopping with that provider.

In this way, the suppliers with the most claims so far are the Walmart (40), Sam’s Club (13) and Bodega Aurrera (3) stores; while Mexico City (16), the State of Mexico (10) and Jalisco (6), are the federal entities with the most claims.

The products with the highest number of claims are toys (10), videogames/technology (10) and computers and laptops (7).

In addition, 1,312 consultancies related to consumer rights, guidance for attention from other authorities and services or procedures provided or carried out by Profeco were provided on this first day.

The El Buen Fin portal (https://elbuenfin.profeco.gob.mx/), through which you can compare prices of products in greatest demand this season, including screens, household appliances, and audio systems, received an accumulated of 158,000 visits.

Of the official accounts of Profeco in social networks, 91 cases of consumers who sought care through this channel were attended.
