The president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, took the oath of office on Monday of the new Secretary for Strategic Affairs, Mercedes Marcó del Ponto, in a ceremony that took place at the Casa Rosada in Buenos Aires.

“We are beginning a different stage, with a strong boost to issues related to management, in a very complex world,” said the president during the event.
The head of state welcomed the country’s overcoming of the pandemic and added that he continues to work to confront and overcome the effects of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as the measures imposed on Moscow by the West.

“Mercedes has been the protagonist of numerous policies that we have carried out all this time and has done a great job in the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP). It is a pleasure to welcome you to the National Cabinet, Mercedes”, emphasized the dignitary.
In this sense, the president assured that the successor of Marcó del Ponto in the AFIP, Carlos Castagneto, will continue the excellent work done by the newly sworn-in.
Finally, Fernández thanked Gustavo Beliz, who held the position of Secretary of Strategic Affairs “for your loyalty and your work over the years, with enormous capacity and impeccable morality.”
