Mexico accumulates 319 thousand 859 deaths from COVID-19
Mexico reported in the last 24 hours one thousand 905 new cases and 35 deaths from COVID-19with what they add 5 million 564 thousand 985 infections and 319 thousand 859 confirmed deathsreported the Ministry of Health.
In epidemiological week number 8 -from February 20 to 26-, the number of estimated cases of COVID-19 decreased by 41 percentage points compared to the previous week. Only 0.5 percent of the total registered since the start of the pandemic are active cases; namely, 30,652 people with signs and symptoms who were infected in the last 14 days.
At the national level, the hospital network registers a 92 percent reduction in occupancy compared to the highest point of the second epidemic wave in January 2021. In the last 24 hours, the occupancy of general and ventilated beds decreased by one percentage point to settle at 13 and 10 percent, respectively.
The first 10 entities that accumulate the highest number of cases are: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Nuevo León, Guanajuato, Jalisco, Tabasco, San Luis Potosí, Veracruz, Puebla and Sonora, which together make up 64% of all accumulated cases registered in the country.
