According to the North Korean official agency KCNA, the North Korean leader supervised first-hand the test of the new tactical guided weapon of a new type.

Kim Jong-un clarified that the long-term plan is to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities and gave instructions on the further development of nuclear forces.

According to KCNA, the new system is of great importance in improving the firepower of front-line long-range artillery units and increasing the effectiveness of tactical nuclear weapons.

If confirmed, this would be the first tactical weapon that Pyongyang designs and develops with the capacity to carry nuclear warheads.

Hours before the test, South Korean military authorities reported the launch of two projectiles by Pyongyang into the Sea of ​​Japan.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) detailed that the launch was made from the Hamhung region, achieving a distance of 110 kilometers and reaching an altitude of 25 kilometers.
