The Colombian player from the Deportivo Cali club, Manuela Pavi, was in charge of extracting the papers with the names and the teams from the drum, while they were placed in their respective groups as established.

Group A will be led by the host team, Colombia, ranked 26th in the ranking of the International Federation of Football Association (FIFA), who will be accompanied by their peers from Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay and Bolivia.

For the other key will be Brazil, the selection of the region best placed in the international ranking, ranking ninth and will compete with Peru, Venezuela, Argentina and Uruguay.

The top three from each group will advance to the final phase of the championship and will fight for the title, qualification for the 2023 World Cup, the 2024 Olympic Games and the 2023 Pan American Games.

The Brazilian team is the top favorite to lift the title of a tournament whose final phase will be played at the Alfonso López stadium in the city of Bucaramanga.

In the absence of the South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) releasing the official schedule containing the venues for each of the matches, the cities of Cali and Armenia are expected to host the group stage.

The upcoming Copa América, which will take place in Colombia between July 8 and 30, will be the ninth edition of a competition dominated by Brazil seven times, this team being the last to lift the trophy in 2018.
