Canadian police kill murder suspect


Police on Thursday killed a man suspected of killing three men in the Montreal metropolitan area.

An agency that oversees Quebec law enforcement said the Montreal police tactical unit went to a motel around 7 a.m. for a search related to the investigation of three homicides in Montreal and Laval in the past two days. .

The agency said officers encountered the suspect, who was armed. Shots were fired and the man was struck by a bullet and pronounced dead at the scene.

The police operation came after two murders about 65 minutes apart and in two Montreal districts close to each other on Tuesday night.

Police said they could not rule out that the victims were chosen at random.
