The mishap has taken place during a morning bike ride that he has done with his wife, dressed in sportswear, white helmet and gloves, in Rehoboth Beach (Delaware), where he spends the weekend, since the Monday is a holiday.

“As the president has said, his foot got caught on the pedal when he dismounted and he’s fine. He doesn’t need medical attention. The president hopes to spend the rest of the day with his family, ”said a spokesman shortly after. President Biden has an empty agenda of events this weekend.

Questioned about other matters, Biden has stated that he is studying a possible reduction in tariffs on China and that he will “soon” speak with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping. “We are in the process of doing it,” he said, when asked about it.

He has also claimed to be “happy” with the agreement of a group of Democratic and Republican senators to advance a bill with some arms control measures. “I’m ready to sign it,” he said, also citing Delaware as an example for its ban on assault weapons.
