The president of the Government, Pedro Sanchez, announced this Sunday that he tested positive for Covid-19, so he will not be able to attend, as planned, the traditional PSC Rose Festival held in Barcelona.
This was announced in a message posted on Twitter, and picked up by Europe Pressin which wished a happy Rose Festival and assured that he will continue “working with extreme precautions.”
Sánchez’s positive for coronavirus occurs after the passage of the head of the Executive this week by the 77 General Assembly of the United Nations held in New York, a trip that was also used to hold several bilateral meetings with leaders from other countries.
After returning from the trip, the president moved to Valencia to participate on Friday in the tenth anniversary of eldiario.es
For the next week, Sánchez planned to intervene on Tuesday, September 27, in the tribute organized by the PSOE to the writer Big Almudena. The event, which will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Madrid Athenaeum, will feature speeches by the CEF Secretary for Culture and Sports, Manuela Villa, and the poet and partner of Grandes, Luis García Montero.
In addition, on September 30, the annual summit of the Med-9 group is held in Alicante, which brings together Cyprus, Croatia, Slovenia, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Spain to address common challenges. Within the framework of this meeting, Sánchez would have to participate in different meetings and events.
