37th Annual DC Special Olympics Torch Run TRAFFIC ALERT


The 37th Annual DC Special Olympics Torch Run will take place in the District of Columbia on Friday, September 23, 2022. There will be street closures associated with this event that drivers should be aware of:

From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the following road will be closed to automobile traffic:

From Barney Circle, SE, along Southeast Boulevard, to RFK Lot 8.

All street closures and times listed are tentative and may change based on weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The general public should be aware of parking restrictions along the street and follow the posted emergency no parking warning. All vehicles parked against the emergency no parking signs will receive citations and will be towed.

If driving near this event, drivers may experience delays and may consider using alternate routes. The District of Columbia Department of Transportation and the Metropolitan Police Department also want to urge drivers in the area of ​​this event to exercise caution as they anticipate increased pedestrian activity.
