One person died after a house fire in western Maryland Wednesday night, fire officials said.
The Frederick County Fire and Rescue Services Division said crews were dispatched around 7 p.m. to a home on Gambrill Park Road in Wolfsville, The Frederick News Post reported. When firefighters arrived, the front of the house was completely engulfed in flames. Crews attacked the fire and searched for a missing resident, authorities said.
About 50 firefighters from Frederick and Washington counties took more than an hour to bring the fire under control, authorities said.
One person died in the fire, said Frederick County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Todd Wivell. The sheriff’s office and the fire department will investigate the fire and death. The Frederick County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating at the scene.
