In the teleSUR multiplatform news program, Zurda Infinita, they talked about England’s defeat of Iran, as well as the victory of the Netherlands over Senegal and the draw between the United States (USA) and Wales.

The exchange also focused on the match that Argentina will hold against Saudi Arabia this Tuesday at the Lusail stadium.

Sorín spoke with former player and current sports writer Manuel Negrete about the Mexican team’s debut against Poland, and pointed out that Argentine coach Gerardo Martino has been criticized for the team’s scaffolding in friendly matches.

Negrete also emotionally recalled the Argentine soccer star Diego Armando Maradona, whom he described as a genius because of the way he played and exclaimed that he was always an extraordinary person, because of the way he defended noble causes, in favor of his teammates and those who comprised the soccer union.

“The final in Mexico 86 was very exciting and unforgettable because of what Diego did, he was an extraordinary person on the field and he always defended his team, as well as the props, who were sometimes the ones who suffered from problems,” he said.

Sorín emphasized the importance of keeping the memory of Maradona alive in each World Cup, stating that “he made the whole world love Argentina.”
