Young man attends concert for peace in Israel; They identify his body in Hamas video
On the first day of Hamas' unexpected military offensive against Israel, kidnappings and hostage-taking have been reported in the border region. Videos shared on social networks documented the situation, showing people being dragged into vans by militants from one of the Al Qasam Brigades. Among the victims was Shani Louk, a young German woman who was in the vicinity of the Gaza Strip to attend a concert.
A few hours after the start of the conflict, Louk was reported missing by her family, after an incursion of terrorists arrived at a party in which she was participating. This afternoon Louk was identified by relatives in one of the kidnapping videos of her sitting in one of the trucks and surrounded by armed militiamen.

Tom Weintraub Louk, Shani's cousin, confirmed that the young woman was his first cousin and that the family had tried in vain to contact her.
“We recognized her by her tattoos and her long dreadlocks,” they stated.
Although the family maintained hope of finding her alive, another video released later by Hamas suggests his tragic murder. In that recording, no movements of the young woman are perceived, who appears face down in the bed of a truck.
Shani Louk, 30, had gone to Israel to attend a peace music festival near the border with the Gaza Strip. After her possible death became known, hundreds of messages of support from all over the world have flooded her Instagram account.
Shani Louk's mother published a video confirming that it was her daughter and asking for help and information to find and recover her daughter.

Internet users have called Hamas' actions an affront to life.
Kidnappings are Hamas strategy
Unfortunately, Louk was not the only victim, since in other videos also show other women kidnapped and raped by Hamas militants. Different border areas reported similar kidnappings, in which the victims were loaded into vehicles by armed individuals who shot into the air.
The international community is closely following the developments of this crisis, while the Israeli and Palestinian authorities seek answers and solutions to stop the violence and protect the civilian population caught in the middle of this conflict.

There are soldiers and civilians kidnapped. I cannot give figures at this time. It's a war crime committed by Hamas and they will pay the consequences,” admitted Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari.
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said on television Al Aqsa -led by the armed group - which envisioned a “great victory” in the operation he called “Al Aqsa Flood.”
