Lawyer Alejandro Romano Rascón, legal representative of the minister, explained, through a statement, that the protection granted by the Fourth District Judge in Civil Matters in Mexico City, Eduardo Hernández Sánchez, was in relation to an agreement of the Local Civil Judge.
“The amparo ruling issued by the District Judge only declares illegal an agreement of the local Civil Judge issued after the precautionary measures that protect Minister Yasmín Esquivel.
“This agreement of the local judge, challenged by the UNAM via amparo, only declared the finality of the precautionary measures, because the University itself did not appeal them in a timely manner in the local trial,” explained the litigant.
The Sixtieth Civil Judge of the Mexico CityJosé Manuel Salazar Uribe, decided to leave various precautionary measures firm in favor of the minister, because none of the parties had filed appeals.
“The District Judge never addressed whether or not the precautionary measures issued by the local judge were correct, since such measures were never questioned by UNAM,” said lawyer Romano Rascón.
