Poland, Mexico’s first rival in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, defeated its similar team from Wales 1-0 in the UEFA Nations League Group D match.

The match was decided with a goal from Karol Swiderski cwith a great assist from Robert Lewandowskand that he continues in his great form in the last matches with FC Barcelona and now with his national team.

The first half was everything for the Polish team in the attack led by Lewandowski, Zieliński and Świderski. On several occasions they had chances to open the scoring, but the Wales defense resisted the constant attack of the Poles.

The match ended 0-0 in the first half thanks to the performances of the goalkeepers and defenders. But in the 56th minute, the left side sent a ball to Robert Lewandowski who first and with a subtle touch with his left leg enabled Swiderski so that he could also define first under the goalkeeper’s legs and score the 1-0.

After the goal, the Poles fell back and all the dangerous chances went to the hosts in Cardiff. Schezny, goalkeeper of Poland, took several important balls that kept the Polish advantage.

In minute 90+1, Gareth Bale headed hard towards the goal and crashed the ball into the crossbar which ended Wales’s hopes of drawing the match and therefore relegation from the Group in the Nations League.

For its part, Poland will remain in League A after finishing in third position with 7 points behind Belgium with 10 units and the Netherlands with 16 points. This was the last match of the FIFA date for Poland and the debut with Mexico in the Qatar 2022 World Cup is getting closer.
