Russia attacks the Khmelnitsky region in western Ukraine for the fourth consecutive day
Russia attacked the province of Khmelnitsky, in eastern Ukraine, during the night for the fourth consecutive day, causing 16 injuries and damage to unspecified critical infrastructure and various vehicles and residential buildings, as reported this Wednesday by the Military Administration of the region.
“For the fourth day in a row, the enemy attacks Khmelnytskyy,” the head of the province's Military Administration, Sergei Tiurin, wrote on Facebook, noting that critical infrastructure was hit by fragments of a drone previously shot down by Ukrainian air defenses.
Russia usually attacks in the western regions of Ukraine, those furthest from the front, to try to destroy military warehouses or military bases and other logistical objectives. Khmelnitsky is home to an important air base that has been hit several times during this war.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched a total of 11 Iranian-made Shahed bomb drones against Ukraine last night, which were all shot down by Ukrainian air defenses over the provinces of Cherkasy, Poltava and Khmelnitsky (west), Yitomir (center) and Kherson and Mikoláiv (south). (EFE)
