An apparent murder-suicide claimed the life of a Virginia elementary school teacher Sunday night, reportor the Fauquier County Sheriff's Office in Virginia.

Bengu Beachley, 30, who has been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) at Grace Miller Elementary School since 2018, was found dead at her home alongside her ex-husband John Beachley, 51.

Detectives arrived at the house in the 7500 block of Hancock Street, in the Bealeton area, where they discovered the macabre scene.

They determined that the two had died at the scene from gunshot wounds, and that a third person was also injured and is recovering at a hospital. “While the circumstances surrounding Bengu Beachley's passing are concerning, this tragedy does not pose a threat to our school community,” Fauquier County Public Schools spokeswoman Tara Helkowski wrote.

Police are still investigating the shooting.
