In Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu, schools were closed during this day while testimonies published in national sources show that the center of the capital remained deserted due to the riots.
In turn, Kenyan newspapers reported that the police arrested suspected protesters in Homa Bay, located in the west of the African nation, meanwhile, three protesters were hospitalized in Migori, a town on the border with Tanzania.
For its part, the opposition party Azimio La Umoja reported that its leader Raila Odinga, who represented the Kibera community in parliament between 1993 and 2003, was arrested.
Earlier this month, at least 15 people were killed and hundreds arrested during two rounds of protests, in which police forces fired live ammunition at protesters.
The opposition called the protests after the government of President William Ruto announced a tax increase, which the administration said would go toward paying off the debt.
