Video | X-ray of the violence between Israel and Palestine: more deaths since October 7 than in the 23 years of the 21st century | Videos

Between September 29, 2000, when the Second Intifada broke out, and October 6, 2023, the last day before the Hamas attack, the Palestinian-Israeli conflict had left 10,672 Palestinians dead at the hands of Israelis (not counting Palestinians killed in clashes with other Palestinian factions) and 1,330 Israelis killed at the hands of Palestinians, according to data from the organization B'Tselem (Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories).
This figure has been surpassed in just over a month of war, if the data distributed by OCHA (the UN office for the coordination of humanitarian affairs) is taken into account: between October 7 and November 12, 11,263 have died. Palestinians at the hands of Israelis: 11,078 in the attacks against Gaza (OCHA uses the figure tallied by the Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas) and 185 in the West Bank, with data from the Al Jazeera network. In the case of Israeli fatalities, OCHA has for weeks accepted the figure of 1,400, based on data offered by Israeli media from official sources in the country, and which exceeded the 1,330 victims in the first 23 years of the XXI century. In its report of November 12, the figure was readjusted and lowered to 1,200 deaths.
