Video | This is how eight kilos of cocaine are hidden in a wheelchair | Videos
As can be seen in the video that accompanies this news item, the Italian Finance Guard has seized eight kilos of drugs that were hidden in the wheelchair of an American passenger who arrived at Malpensa airport in Milan on a flight from La Roman, in Santo Domingo. The passenger appeared at the airport arrivals gate in a wheelchair and with a brace on his right leg, but an anti-drug dog immediately pointed out the presence of narcotics.
According to a statement from the Italian Finance Guard, the agents carried out a meticulous control of the passenger, the luggage and the wheelchair, "also harboring strong suspicions about the unconvincing reasons given for the trip to Italy," the letter details. The financial police focused their attention on the wheelchair and, upon disassembling it, observed that it had an abnormal weight, so they decided to check the interior. This is how they discovered that the trafficker had hidden up to 43 envelopes containing 8.4 kilos of pure cocaine in the air chamber of the chair's wheels. The passenger was arrested and made available to the Busto Arsizio prosecutor's office, which validated the arrest and ordered his transfer to prison. It should be noted that this is not the first time that this type of drug concealment system occurs to pass it from one country to another by traffickers. Last August, a Spanish citizen was arrested at the same airport who turned out to be a fake disabled person who had filled his wheelchair with 13 kilos of cocaine.
