Last Sunday's elections in Poland, despite being very fair, yielded a clear conclusion: the current Government party, the ultra-conservative Law and Justice (PiS), does not have the numbers to achieve a parliamentary majority. The three opposition parties (European and liberal), on the other hand, add enough to form a Government. If it achieves this, the centrist coalition would put an end to eight years of PiS's reign and very tense relations with the European Union, accentuated in recent months by Poland's position on the aid that the bloc should give to Ukraine.
