Venezuelan president ratifies support for peace talks in Colombia | News
The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, ratified this Monday his support for the peace dialogue process between the Government of Colombia and the National Liberation Army (ELN).

On this day, the IV cycle of dialogues between both parties concluded in Caracas, the Venezuelan capital.
“I think it has been a very profitable day and they are moving forward, a day of peace for Colombia; The peace of Colombia is the peace of Venezuela, the happiness of Colombia is the happiness of Venezuela. That is why we are willing to do everything that needs to be done for the peace of Colombia,” she emphasized.
Furthermore, the head of state insisted on the need to accelerate the negotiation processes "because Colombia needs peace, to accelerate everything."

"Let them reach a definitive agreement (...), if they are clear that peace is the way, let them accelerate the negotiation," he said.
Previously, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil shared a statement in which President Maduro congratulated the Colombian Government and the ELN for carrying out the IV cycle of peace talks.

"Venezuela as a guarantor country and within the framework of its peace diplomacy, has once again hosted this important negotiation process that placed humanitarian actions and dynamics at the center of its debates, seeking to reduce the impact of the conflict on the Colombian population" , he specified in the text.
Likewise, he expressed the willingness of the Bolivarian Government to work tirelessly for "the inestimable goods of peace and Latin American and Caribbean union."
