During a Council meeting on UN Goal 16, which seeks to promote just, peaceful and inclusive societies, Venezuela's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Joaquín Pérez Ayestarán, highlighted his country's firm commitment to transparency.

In addition, through the official Twitter account of the permanent mission of Venezuela to the UN, Pérez Ayestarán pointed out that "unilateral coercive measures and the attempt to confiscate national assets, such as the Citgo company, constitute the maximum expression of corruption, and they represent criminal actions and double standards in the fight against this scourge".



During the celebration of the event for Labor Day, the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, expressed his indignation at what he considers a theft by the US government. and the opposition Unitary Platform of Venezuela.
