The Minister of Popular Power for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil, met this Monday in Addis Ababa with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonnen Hassen.

“We continue our visit to Ethiopia with an important meeting (...) We have talked about deepening bilateral cooperation in areas such as agriculture, tourism, energy and air connection,” the foreign minister published on his X account.

Likewise, the Cuban diplomat pointed out that, during the meeting, Caracas advocated the maintenance of “a strong unity within multilateral forums for the mutual benefit of our nations.”



In turn, the Venezuelan Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa, Yuri Pimentel, was also present at the meeting held at the headquarters of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry.

Likewise, Gil was received by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, within the framework of the second stop of the tour of Africa after having visited the Republic of the Congo.

Previously, the senior diplomat toured the Ethiopian Airlines University campus facilities, which he described as “impressive,” as well as the airline's operational centers.

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister participated in the Summit of the Three Basins of Biodiversity Ecosystems and Tropical Forests that was held last weekend in Brazzaville.
