US: Starbucks workers go on strike over 'Pride' ban
More than 150 Starbucks SBUX.O stores and 3,500 workers will go on strike next week across the United States, the union representing the coffee chain's baristas announced Friday, after denouncing that the company had prohibited the decoration of the Month of the Pride in its cafeterias.
The Starbucks Workers United union said earlier this month that the company had removed the decoration and flags of Pride Month in several stores, which some workers denounced on social networks.
Starbucks on Friday denied the claims it called "hoax." Last week he said there had been "no change in policy on this matter" and that he continued to encourage store managers to celebrate the pride monthas long as the safety guidelines were respected.

Starbucks, which has some 9,000 of its own stores in the United States, has seen how employees of more than 300 stores voted to unionize since the end of 2021 in demand for better wages and benefits.
The company is also currently facing hundreds of complaints, accusing it of illegal labor practicessuch as the firing of union supporters and the closing of stores during unionization drives.
