US condemns attack in Pakistan and offers help

The United States condemned this Tuesday "firmly" the suicide attack committed on Monday in a mosque in pakistan and said that he is ready to give the Asian country the help it needs to recover.

“This news is tragic and heartbreaking, and we send our deepest condolences to those who have lost loved ones. Terrorism is indefensible and attacking those who come to pray is inconceivable," Adrienne Watson, a White House spokeswoman, said in a statement.

The attack has left at least 100 dead and 53 hospitalized injuredmostly police officers, according to data updated this Tuesday by the authorities.

The attack occurred in peshawar cityin northwestern Pakistan, and it is one of the worst attacks against the country's security forces.

The explosion occurred in the prayer room, the main room of the mosque, which had the capacity to about 250 or 300 people.

The suicide bomber had placed himself in the front row during the noon prayer that took place in the mosque before activating the explosive charge he was carrying and killing, among others, the Imam Sahibzada Nurulamin.
