UNAM condemns acts of vandalism at the CCH Azcapotzalco
Mexico.- This afternoon, around fifty people, most with their faces covered, violently entered the Azcapotzalco campus of the College of Sciences and Humanities, causing destruction and burning of the Directorate's offices.
For no reason at all, the vandal group also cunningly attacked the administrative staff, also preventing them from leaving the campus. At least three people were injured and are receiving medical attention.
The University's legal department will file criminal complaints against those responsible for this crude provocation and will provide all the evidence in its possession so that the corresponding authority can carry out a thorough investigation.
Attacks like the one perpetrated today by a violent, commando-type group have no place in any space, much less in educational facilities.
The UNAM expresses its open repudiation and indignation at the interests outside the University that seek to affect, with luxury of violence, the succession process of the Rectorate, which is carried out in complete order in our house of studies.
