More than 3,000 people have already been evacuated from the flooded area under Ukrainian control, according to Zelensky.

More than 3,000 people have already been evacuated from the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky said on his Telegram channel. The president then stressed that "again, it is a free territory" under Ukrainian control, and continued: "In the occupied territory, it is only possible to help people in some areas: Russian terrorists are doing everything possible to the victims of the catastrophe are as many as possible”.

The president reiterated later that the “Russian bombardments continue, even at the evacuation points. Russia does not provide any real help to the population of the flooded areas, not for the sake of propaganda, but for the sake of the population. The Russian state and the Russian leadership must bear separate, fair and strict responsibility for all of this,” he stressed, referring to the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam and the flooding caused by its collapse.

Zelensky also alluded again to the “international organizations” that, according to him, “should act in our areas, which we have not yet vacated. Every life is important: the entire Kherson region, the entire south. Every city and every town. We will do everything possible and impossible so that help reaches all our people”.

“I thank each of our rescuers, military and police, local communities and international organizations currently operating in the Kherson region and the Mykolaiv region, all of our volunteers, each and every one of those who help save people, animals and life in general in the disaster area. I thank the journalists, who spread the truth and tell the world the stories of the people who have suffered," the president continued.
