According to the authorities, the fire so far affects only the administrative building. The news was also confirmed by representatives of the nuclear plant.
Through social networks, videos have been shared in which the fall and ricochet of projectiles can be seen in the plant's parking lot.
The spokesman for the nuclear plant, Andriy Tuz, said that until then the radiation situation was normal and that "the staff will do everything possible to ensure safety so that there are no accidents."
Also, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister blamed Russia for the fire through his Twitter account.
"The Russian army is firing from all sides at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. The fire has already broken out. If it explodes, it will be ten times bigger than Chernobyl!" he said.

For their part, experts in the area have specified that the power unit of the plants is a highly protected installation, which is designed against possible direct hits from bombs.
In addition, the structure can respond so that, at the slightest danger, the reactor shuts down automatically or manually.
This event takes place in the midst of the special military operation undertaken by Moscow for the defense of Donbas, after the second meeting between representatives of Ukraine and Russia to advance the negotiations.
