Ucrania alista ofensiva para recuperar planta nuclear de Zaporiyia
La agencia nuclear rusa, Rosenergoatom, indicó que a pesar de la aparente calma en las inmediaciones, no descarta que las fuerzas ucranianas lleven a cabo un inminente ataque contra la central y ha matizado que dichos planes “están sobre la mesa”.
El asesor de Rosenergoatom, Renat Karchaa, puntualizó que “Ucrania sigue preparando operaciones en la zona para hacerse nuevamente con la planta”. “Simplemente han cambiado sus tácticas“, aseveró.
El Organismo Internacional para la Energía Atómica (OIEA) subrayó en anteriores ocasiones la importancia de “crear una zona de seguridad en torno a la central para evitar el riesgo de que sea atacada”.
A finales de enero, se registraron explosiones en las inmediaciones, si bien las propias autoridades rusas descartaron que se tratara de un ataque ucraniano y alertaron de que dichas informaciones buscaban “desacreditar a Rusia”.
Putin suspende la participación de Rusia en el tratado de desarme nuclear con EU
El presidente de Rusia, Vladimir Putin, anunció desde el portal ruso de información legal la suspensión del papel de Rusia en el START III, el único tratado que tenía con Estados Unidos sobre el uso de armas nucleares.
El pasado 21 de febrero, el jefe del Kremlin hizo el anuncio en su discurso anual ante la Asamblea Federal de la suspensión del tratado que tendría vigencia hasta febrero del 2026, pues considera que los países de occidente intentan inspeccionar sus instalaciones de defensa en el conflicto en Ucrania.
La noticia generó respuestas en Estados Unidos, la Organización del Tratado Atlántico del Norte (OTAN) y la Unión Europea, los cuales mostraron su rechazo ante la acción. Antonio Gutierres, Secretario General de la ONU, desde su portavoz Stephanie Dujarric, instó a ambas naciones a restablecer los acuerdos del pacto.
