Two-year-old boy alerts and saves his family from a fire in Texas

A two-year-old boy saved his family from a fire in his house when he warned them that there was a fire in the house. The couple did not smell the smoke due to the aftermath that COVID-19 left in .

Kayla and Nathan Dahl, 28, were sleeping last Sunday when little Brandon woke them up: "Mom, hot." The woman thought that her son wanted her pajamas to be removed because she was hot, until she noticed the fire.

The couple did not notice the incident because none of the smoke detectors activated, in addition to the fact that they did not smell the smoke because of the Covid-19.

"We are recovering from COVID-19, so none of us had 100 percent sense of smell," the woman said in an interview with The Washington Post.

Following Brandon's alert, the couple removed their five children, however, the house was completely consumed by the fire.

The morning of the incident Brandon did not sleep in the room he shares with one of his older brothers because he did not feel well the night before and stayed in the living room that connects to his parents' bedroom.

"It's a miracle of God that he was able to do that," Kayla told The Post. “At that moment I thought: 'We have to find our children and get out.'” The woman ran out of the house while her husband, coincidentally a 33-year-old firefighter, got the five children to safety.
