Official reports reported that the deceased were identified as Nilo Flores and NN, artisans who worked on boats in the Varadero area. A local fisherman told local media that the murdered men “were innocent people who were not linked to any illegal activity.”



Along with the deceased, two fishermen who were injured by the shots fired by the criminals as they retreated were urgently taken to the hospital. For the Police, the event originated from an assault on the high seas committed by five pirate boats.
