The Former US President Donald Trump once again claimed electoral fraud before his long-awaited announcement of the launch of his presidential candidacy for 2024 On tuesday night.
Using the social network Truth Social, after his ally Kari Lake lost in the race for the government of Arizona, Trump, 76, claimed that the election was stolen from him.
"Wow! They simply took the election away from Kari Lake. It's really bad out there!" Trump wrote Monday night.
Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, pto claim without any evidence that the Democrats robbed Kari Lake of her election in Arizona.
Lake, a staunch Trump supporter who argued without any evidence that the 2020 election was rigged, lost to Democrat Katie Hobbs on Monday after she was projected to lose the state.
She is the latest Trump-backed MAGA candidate to be rejected by voters in the midterms, who failed to unleash the "red wave" of Republican victories they had predicted.
From Pennsylvania to Nevada, a parade of Trump's handpicked candidates vying to become senators or governors flopped, including Dr. Mehmet Oz, Blake Masters and Doug Mastriano.
Lake is a staunch Trump supporter who has argued without any evidence that the 2020 election was rigged.
Likewise, all of the Trump-backed hopefuls who ran in key battleground states met the same fate.
Trump focused on secretary of state races because the people in those positions serve as the top election officials in their state, which would help him win if he runs for president in 2024.
Hobbs, who is Arizona's secretary of state, gained a national profile by vehemently defending the legitimacy of Joe Biden's election against Trump's baseless "grand robbery" claims.
She will succeed Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican who was barred by term limits from running for re-election.
She is the first Democrat to be elected governor of Arizona since Janet Napolitano in 2006.
Lake, a former television news anchor who has refused to say whether she would accept her own election results, reacted to her loss by tweeting: "Arizonians know lies when they see them."
Lake's loss came on the eve of Trump's 2024 campaign advance announcement, which he previewed on Truth Social overnight by writing with his trademark bombast: "May TODAY turn out to be one of the biggest days in history! of our country!”
