Trudeau calls the bombing of a hospital in Gaza unacceptable and illegal

Toronto (Canada), Oct 17 (EFE).- The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, described as "unacceptable" and contrary to international laws the attack on a hospital in the Gaza Strip, allegedly bombed by Israel, and that It caused at least 200 deaths this Tuesday.

Trudeau told the press in the corridors of the Canadian Parliament that what happened is "absolutely unacceptable" and added that the bombing of a hospital is "not legal."

"Humanitarian and international laws need to be respected. There are rules in wars and it is not acceptable. It is horrifying," added the prime minister.

The Islamist movement Hamas reported that an Israeli bombing of Al Ahli Hospital, one of the health centers in Gaza City, caused at least 200 deaths, although other sources put the death toll at 500.

Egypt accused Israel of "deliberately" bombing the hospital where many of those displaced by Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip had taken refuge.

According to local sources, in the health center - a Christian institution - there were about 2,000 people who were taking refuge from the bombings. EFE
