Trailer crashes into passenger bus in Colima; there are 12 injured
Twelve people were injured in a collision between a passenger bus and a cargo trailer that were traveling towards the capital of Colima, coming from the port of Manzanillo. All the injured people were traveling in the truck, and they are out of danger, according to information provided by the state government.
On the other hand, the operator of the loading unit was unharmed because he got out before the cabin caught fire, which was almost completely consumed. The area of the incident is located about half an hour from the municipal seat of Colima, from where the Civil Protection and Red Cross units arrived.
The accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on the Colima-Manzanillo highway, near the community of La Salada. Due to the incident, the entire stretch of road was closed towards the state capital.
Paramedics from the Red Cross, elements of Civil Protection and the National Guard arrived at the scene, who confirmed that the injured people are conscious and stable.
Through a statement, the government of Colima called on motorists to look for alternative routes, and the main road that connects these districts with the capital of Colima would be blocked practically all afternoon and evening on Wednesday, and it would not be until the expert report by the National Guard is completed and traffic is reopened.
