The family vehicle collided head-on with the heavy-duty truck, presumably because of the lane invasion and speeding, according to what the uniformed officer told local media.
The incident occurred some 20 kilometers from the departmental capital of Oruro and the firefighters undertook an arduous task to rescue the bodies of the victims from the completely destroyed vehicle under the truck's wheels.
Official sources of the Oruro Police confirmed to the press that the bodies of the deceased correspond to a couple and their three children, passengers in the van.
