Toyota 4Runner 40 Anniversary, a retro style to celebrate four decades since its first launch.

Toyota’s venerable 4Runner SUV has been a stalwart adventure companion for generations. It is a very capable vehicle, robust and always full of innovation.

This SUV that today recently celebrated four decades of life and what better way to do it than with a special edition with a very retro style that reminds us of the first years of this titan’s life: Toyota 4Runner 40th Anniversary.

Built on the SR5 Premium version, the Toyota 4Runner 40 Anniversary It features a metallic black or white exterior, adorned with a red, orange and yellow stripe that extends from the edge of the windows to the hood and grille. This is very much in the style of the decoration used by the Japanese brand on its off-road competition models during the ’80s.

Exterior styling is complemented by a set of 17-inch bronze wheels on off-road tires, a traditional body-color grille and edition-specific badging.

The new version brings some very interesting new features, including black SofTex seats with bronze stitching, specific 40th anniversary edition logos embroidered on the headrests, specific commemorative plaque on the glove box, edition-specific floor mats and an electric sunroof as part of the standard equipment.

As always, it’s powered by the 4.0-liter V6 engine with 274 horsepower, which is transferred to all four wheels of the vehicle through a five-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota confirmed that only 4 thousand 40 units will be produced for the whole world, so it will be a fairly limited and exclusive edition, intended for those fans of this SUV.
