Titanic: This was the implosion of the submersible 'Titan' | International
Submersible search and rescue operations Titan They came to an end this Thursday when an implosion was confirmed that instantly ended the lives of its five crew members. The lack of oxygen was the main concern of the teams that for four days tried to locate the bathyscaphe in the northern part of the Atlantic sea. However, a remote-controlled robot found parts of the vehicle at a depth of 3,800 meters.
The submersible broke by an implosion caused by the high pressure on the cabin, a cylinder-shaped cabin measuring just over 6.5 meters in length, 2.8 in width and 2.5 in height. The implosion is the collapse of the walls inward due to the greater pressure from the outside, which causes the hull to break, made of titanium and carbon fiber. The US Coast Guard has no doubts about the cause of the incident. United States Coast Guard Vice Admiral George Mauger explained at a press conference that the rupture of the submersible had generated "a significant broadband sound down there" that the sonar buoys were able to pick up.
