Luego de haber azotado la víspera Filipinas, el tifón Doksuri se dirigía este jueves a China, mientras las autoridades de esta nación ultiman medidas preventivas para minimizar los daños que pueda provocar, según dieron a conocer medios estatales del gigante asiático.

La Oficina Meteorológica Central de Taiwán señaló en su más reciente informe que el fenómeno meteorológico presenta vientos de 155 kilómetros por hora y rachas de hasta 190 kilómetros por hora.

En esa isla china, donde se pronostica que el tifón impacte con más fuerza la noche de la presente jornada, las autoridades meteorológicas emitieron advertencias de viento y lluvia para la región sur y este, incluida la urbe de Kaohsiung, donde existen alertas de deslizamientos de tierra.



De igual forma, en el territorio insular se reportaron más de 24.000 hogares con cortes de electricidad, de los cuales más de un millar aún permanecían sin servicio eléctrico.

Por su parte, el Observatorio Nacional de China clasificó a Doksuri como un tifón "fuerte", que avanzaba sobre las 12H00 hora local (04H00 GMT) hacia el noroeste a través del Estrecho de Taiwán, específicamente rumbo a la provincia de Fujian.

El gigante asiático, donde se espera que impacte este viernes Doksuri, ya ha experimentado tormentas eléctricas, fuertes lluvias, vendavales y granizo en 15 provincias y unidades administrativas.

En Filipinas, tras haberse reportado inicialmente ocho fallecidos, se conoció que una cifra superior a 20 personas murióluego de que el bote MBCA Princess Aya se volcara debido a una ráfaga de viento a 45 metros de la costa de la ciudad de Binangonan, provincia de Rizal.
