El tifón Doksuri, considerado el más peligroso en lo que va de año, afectó este viernes el sur de China con fuertes precipitaciones y ráfagas de viento luego de haber azotado a Taiwán y Filipinas, donde dejó alrededor de 40 fallecidos.

De acuerdo con la oficina meteorológica provincial de Fujian (sureste), el tifón tocó tierra alrededor de las 09H55 (hora local) y presentó vientos de hasta 50 metros por segundo.
Medios internacionales reportaron afectaciones en líneas eléctricas que provocaron incendios, árboles arrancados y un estadio en el centro de Quanzhou, el cual perdió su techo.

Ante la intensidad de Doksuri, escuelas y servicios se vieron obligados a cerrar mientras que fueron evacuados los trabajadores de los campos de petróleo y gas en alta mar. El Ejército Popular de Liberación desplegó 3.000 efectivos para labores preventivas y de recuperación.
En este sentido, fuentes locales precisaron que más de 724.600 personas han sido afectadas, 124.400 personas evacuadas y reubicadas, entretanto, se estiman 52.27 millones de yuanes (7.30 millones de dólares) en pérdidas económicas directas.
A su vez, se registraron 39 personas que resultaron heridas levemente en la ciudad portuaria de Quanzhou, en Fujian, donde se vio afectado el servicio de electricidad a más de 500.000 hogares.
Por su parte, tras el paso de Doksuri por Taiwán se reportó al menos una persona fallecida. Se trata de una mujer que murió ahogada tras caer a un río y ser arrastrada por la corriente.
En ese territorio insular chino se registraron más de 60.000 hogares afectados con cortes de electricidad. Asimismo, una casa se derrumbó en Kaohsiung mientras se produjo un deslizamiento de tierra, que bloqueó una carretera en Taitung.
El evento meteorológico arribó este jueves a Taiwán luego de azotar Filipinas, donde se reportaron 39 fallecidos, incluidos 26 víctimas de un naufragio a 45 metros de la costa de la ciudad de Binangonan, provincia de Rizal.
