Three dead reported after shooting in two schools in Brazil | News

At least three people died and another 11 were injured after an attack perpetrated against the Primo Bitti Elementary and Secondary School (EEFM), and a private school located in the vicinity of these, located in the city of Aracruz, Espíritu Santo, Brazil.

According to official reports, two teachers and a student lost their lives, and their identities have not yet been revealed.

It transpired that the attack on the EEFM was carried out by a young man who, with a gun and dressed in camouflage, entered the educational center and fired at the teachers’ room and then at classrooms. Two of the deaths were confirmed in this place.



Later, the same teenager took a car, drove to the private school and shot at it, killing one person and wounding five others.

According to police sources cited by local media, the alleged attacker is a student from the Primo Bitti College, who was arrested in Aracruz after the shootings.



“It is with sadness that I learned of the attack on schools in Aracruz, Espírito Santo. My solidarity with the families of the victims of this absurd tragedy,” President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula Da Silva said on his Twitter account in response to these events.

The governor of the state of Espirito Santo, Renato Casagrande, after expressing his condolences to the relatives, assured that he is following up on the investigations into the shooting.
