Liga MX announced the initial games of the new format Play-In during the morning of this Friday for the 2023 Apertura Tournament, matches that will serve to define the rivals of the two best qualifiers in the regular tournament.
In the Serie A match, Atlético San Luis will face León on Thursday, November 23 at 7 p.m. at the Alfonso Lastras stadium.
The Serie B match will be between Santos Laguna and Mazatlán, also on November 23 but at 9:10 p.m. at the TSM Corona stadium.
The winners of the Play-In will face América and Monterrey, while Tigres already has its duel against Puebla and Pumas against Guadalajara in the quarterfinals.
What is the Liga MX Play-in?
From this tournament, the first six teams classified in the championship table have their place reserved in the league, but the other two positions to obtain the total of eight squads that participate in the Quarterfinals will be defined between four clubs in a new format called Play-In.

From the seventh to the tenth team they must get their pass to Apertura 2023 under a new single-match format where the best classified plays at home.
- Match 1: 7th classified vs 8th classified – The winner qualifies directly to the group stage.
- Match 2: 9th ranked vs 10th ranked – The loser is eliminated.
- Match 3: Loser of Match 1 vs Winner of Match 2 – The winner will be the last team to qualify for the group stage.
