The government coalition in Mexico Together We Make History, led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's party, Morena, will announce this Wednesday the name of its presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections.

Through a survey process, which had the participation of more than 12,000 people, the political movement will choose its candidate for chief executive among six candidates.
According to projections, former Foreign Minister Marcel Ebrard and the former Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, lead citizen preferences.
The former governor of Chiapas, Manuel Velasco, also presented themselves as candidates; the former Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, and the licensed legislators Gerardo Fernández Noroña and Ricardo Monreal.
The leader of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), Mario Delgado, reported on Tuesday that in the afternoon the polls began to be opened with the ballots from the polls of the internal process to define the presidential candidacy of the ruling coalition.
After offering details of the way in which the ballots will be counted, Delgado explained that the results will be announced to the six candidates at 5:00 p.m. local time (11:00 p.m. GMT) this Wednesday, and will be made public at 8:00 p.m. (02:00 GMT on Thursday).
On June 2, 2024, Mexicans will go to the polls to elect President López Obrador's successor for the 2024-2030 six-year term.
