“There have been 293 US mass shootings in 35 different states (and Washington DC) in the 179 days of 2022,” GVA posted on its Twitter account.

This year only 15 North American states have not experienced massive firearms incidents, including Utah, South Dakota, Alaska, Delaware, New Hampshire, Vermont, among others.

The schools of the North American nation are the places where more incidents of this type with firearms are registered, because according to the same NGO, in the last 10 years at least 900 schools have experienced shootings, 90 events of this type approximately every 12 months .

In this sense, local media detailed that between 2009 and 2018, 288 school shootings were experienced in the North American country, 280 more than in Mexico, the second nation that experienced the most events of this type in the nine years chosen.

It is estimated that in the United States, a population of about 328 million inhabitants has in their possession 393 million rifles and pistols, which means that it concentrates about four percent of the world’s population, but 42 percent of the total weapons.
