TAMUÍN, SLP.

Students from Ricardo Flores Magón High School practice at a shooting range installed inside the school.

Parents discovered that their children were shooting with imitation firearms at school and reported the incident so that the education authorities could intervene in what they agree considered to be the “normalization of violence.”

Parents fear that this will be taken as a provocation by any armed group.

According to the information released by the local newspaper Emsa Vallesthe public school promotes drug violence charges for this practice and the money collected goes directly to the high school management.

Another concern of parents is that school administrators prevent students from using cell phones.

Some families have begun to withdraw their children, fearing future problems.

The town, located in the Huasteca of Potosí, is the scene of dispute between several crime groups, according to authorities.
